A family that we were acquainted with a few years ago when Robert was playing travel soccer is having a fundraiser this Saturday, April 26th from 1-7 p.m. at the VFW Hall on VanDyke between 24 & 25 Mile for their son, Alex Knapp. Alex (20 yrs old) has lost his legs up to his knees in a bombing accident in Iraq last month. The cost is $10 per person or $40 per family and it includes food and fun (not sure what the fun consists of). Rob and I will be at the VFW on Saturday from 5-7 p.m. (after working in the yard all day...woohoo).
For updates on Alex's condition you can go to www.caringbridge.org/visit/alexknapp1. It is quite overwhelming and will bring tears to your eyes. Alex and his mom, Jeannette have been in Washington at Walter Reed hospital for some time now and he has had many surgeries. Seems like from the website that he had a few weeks where he had surgery a few times a week.
Please be in prayer for this family.
Keep smiling!!!!!

I think I know Alex Knapp - we had the Knapp brothers at Gerber/Childtime in the mid to late 90's with a mom Jeannette. One brother had dark hair and the other red. Seems like Jeannette worked at a bank? And they lived in the 25 & Shelby area.
Will be praying for the whole Knapp family!!!
